Apple Changes iPad 3 to iPad HD: News And Rumors

One, two… HD. Apple has been set to unveil their latest iPad 3 on March 7th; however the latest buzz is that the name will not be as is expected. The new name that is being tossed around the tech realm is the iPad HD. The name is all but confirmed by numerous sources and the change begs the question: why?
One reason could be that the new device will be featuring the retina display that was included with the iPhone 4. So why not just call it the iPad RD? Well, that riddle isn’t difficult to figure out: it isn’t catchy enough. Although Apple’s primary focus is on technological innovation, a very close second is their focus on marketing strategy.

The iPad 3 Becomes The iPad HD

iPad HDWhile iPad RD isn’t difficult to say, people would ask: “What the hell is RD?” Then, they would have to explain what retina display was and before you know it, the customers have purchased a Samsung or HTC. So it makes perfect sense that Apple would go with the iPad HD for the latest device’s nomenclature.
Where does this news come from, exactly? It can’t be Apple, they have better security than the that. Instead, accessory makers Griffin and Belkin seems to be the source of the leak. They have been rumored to be preparing complimentary products for an HD tablet and not the iPad 3. But don’t forget, there was a plethora of accessories for the iPhone 5, which ultimately became the iPhone 4S.

The iPad 3 or iPad HD: What Are The Specs?

What kind of processor will the HD have? Well, that’s another great mystery. It wasn’t clear whether the new tablet would have a dual-core processor or a quad-core processor for some time because there were several reports that indicated either. The most logical explanation when Apple is involved is simple: they are developing both.
iPad HDWhether they are planning on releasing different versions of the same device or different devices is anyone’s guess. The two chips that are in development, according to rumors and speculation indicated by the Washington Post, are the A5X and the A6. The A5X is supposedly a ‘turbo-charged’ version of their current processor. The A6 would be the quad-core.

Better the iPad HD then the iPad Retina

The retina display should be a significant upgrade from the iPad 2 and the word around Twitter is that it will be more pixelated than a 42′ LCD TV. Regardless of the name, it’s certainly an anticipated product. Although it wasn’t supposed to be released until 2013, it may make it out this fall; just in time for either Christmas or Armageddon. While iPad 3 may not have been that bad of a name, ask yourself and ask your friends: would you want to buy the iPad HD or the iPad Retina?

Apple iPad Review – Introducing The New iPad

Apple held their 2012 keynote in San Francisco this morning, where they officially unveiled the new iPad (previously known as the iPad 3) to the press. After a very long period of rumors and leaked information about the latest version (it’s been months now since the first rumors surfaced), we can finally put all mysteries to rest since the new iPad has been officially revealed.
Since the iPad is so well known, it’s almost detrimental to cover features of past models so instead we’ll just go over what the new version will include.
New iPadObviously the new iPad has a plethora of enhancements and upgrades which make it worthy of the new “iPad” title. Yes, for those of you wondering, the new model of the iPad is simply called the “iPad” – there are no other monikers involved. The new name which Apple has given the iPad is slightly awkward yes, but we figure it’s similar to musical artists and bands who self-title albums that mean signature projects. Apparently Apple believes this is THE iPad to define all iPads, for lack of a better phrase.

The New iPad – List of Features

- High-Definition Retina Display
The display is by far the highest definition ever seen on a tablet, at 2048 by 1536 pixels, or over 3.1 million pixels. According to Apple, existing apps will look great, and developers will be able to take advantage of the extra processing power.
- Design & Weight
The design is quite similar to the iPad 2. The new iPad is 662g, which is 61g heavier than the previous version. Most of you will not notice the extra 0.8mm, unless you have a skinny case.
- New Processor
The new iPad features the new Apple A5X processor with quad-core graphics, which is said to be 4 times faster than the nVidia Tegra 3. This is serious competition for upcoming Android tablets.
- iWorks & iLife Apps
The iWork and iLife apps have been updated. They cost the same to purchase, but it is free to upgrade.
- New iPhoto App
iPhoto is a replacement for existing photo apps. It offers new ways to edit with multi-touching, high quality effects and more. iPhoto is also very good for everyday use, with great new browsing.
- iSight Camera
There is a FaceTime camera on the front. It is capable of HD video recording at 1080 pixels, with video stabilization, auto face detection and auto focus lock.
- Siri Technology
The new iPad has Siri voice recognition input and navigation. The supported languages are English (British, American & Australian), French, German and Japanese.
- 4G LTE
The new iPad is 4G capable. It comes with EV-DO (3.1 Mbps max.), HSPA+ (21 Mbps max.), dual carrier HSDPA (42 Mbps) and LTE (73 Mbps max.), making is all-round great at wireless connectivity.

The New iPad Features & Specifications

The Apple iPad will be powered by a dual core Apple A5X processor (at the very least 1GHz), which will be complimented by a revolutionary quad core GPU that has yet to be determined, but is likely a PowerVR SGX MP4+ module akin to what can be seen in the Sony PS Vita.
iPad 2012There is no word yet as to how much installed RAM the iPad will include, but seeing as the iPad 2 had 512 megabytes it’s likely the iPad will either have the same amount, or an upgraded 1 gigabyte capacity.
Probably the biggest upgrade is the inclusion of the 2048×1536 capable 9.7″ retina display, which has a rated pixel density of 264ppi – the rating basically means that there’s no distinguishing individual pixels while the iPad is held at a 10″ distance from the user’s eyes. As Apple says the retina display is “resolutionary,” and we say, indeed. The new iPad resolution is one of the highest used in any mobile device, in fact it’s higher than what’s supported in most modern HDTVs and computer monitors.
The higher resolution will also be used to playback the full 1080p HD videos which can be filmed using the rear camera. The rear iPad camera is the same model as the one included in the iPhone 4S; not surprisingly dubbed the iSight by Apple, it features auto-exposure, auto-focus, and a 5 megapixel backside-illuminated sensor. Of course the new iPad also includes an integrated front facing camera which supports a maximum VGA resolution of 640×480.
The New iPad
There will be Wi-Fi only models available, but the new iPad will also support 4G LTE network speeds (AT&T, Verizon) in addition to the 3G, HSPA+, and DC-HSPA support. As with previous models, the new iPad will be available in a 16, 32, and 64 gigabyte version with prices reflecting the increased storage capacity. All the standard features from previous models have carried over into the new iPad as well such as the GPS support, integrated accelerometer, the universal 30 pin output/input, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and of course the iOS operating system. The new iPad also includes an integrated 42.5 watt lithium polymer battery that has a rated life of up to 10 hours of continuous use while using Wi-FI and 3G and 9 hours of continuous use while using 4G.

The New iPad Features & Software Upgrades

In addition to the hardware upgrades, Apple has also made a few software tweaks which will be available on the new iPad. Some of these software changes will be available on all Apple devices, and some will be exclusive to the iPad itself.
Of course all of Apple’s stock applications and software will be tailored specially to match the newer, and higher, screen resolution. Apple is also encouraging third party developers to update their software as well, which will likely happen with most, but not all, applications currently available.
The iOS 5 Virtual KeyboardThanks to the success of Apple’s Siri, voice activation software on the iPhone 4S, users can expect to see voice features implemented further in the new iPad. In fact Apple has now completely integrated voice support into the iPad’s basic use; there’s now a dedicated microphone button on the virtual keyboard (which can be seen in the image to the left). The new mic button will allow users to take advantage of a unique voice dictation feature which is available in several languages. It’s not exactly the same as Siri, nor does it necessarily serve the same purpose but it’s likely Apple will expand the voice dictation on the new iPad in the future with software updates.
During the keynote Apple also demoed the introduction of iOS 5.1 (available now), which introduces a plethora of new features that can be taken advantage of on the new iPad. The new features include Japanese language support for Siri, the option to delete photos from Photo Stream, a new camera shortcut directly accessible via the lock screen, improved face detection features for the camera, a completely redesigned stock camera application, integrated Apple Genius mixes and Genius playlists for iTunes Match, and hotspot functionality for the iPad.
The New iPhone Camera in UseApple also demoed original software called iPhoto which is available for the iPhone, and the iPad for $4.99. Apple iPhoto introduces multitouch photo editing support, which can be performed directly via an iPhone or iPad. The iPhoto software includes several photo effects and image tweaks which can be used to enhance or alter personal photos. The iPhoto app also includes a unique journal creation feature which allows users to create personalized scrapbooks from images, and then share them directly via social media networks like Facebook, iCloud and Flickr. Users of the new iPad will benefit from the higher screen resolution and larger screen size when compared to iPhone users.
What better way to kick off the release of a new iPad, than to introduce more advanced photo editing software that can be taken advantage of directly on the device? We’re looking forward to trying out iPhoto on our new iPad.

iOS 5.1 Download Addresses Bug Fixes and Battery Issue

iOS 5.1 upgrade rolled out to iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch, and iPad that addresses battery issue and various bug fixes. Apple March 7, 2012 event is all about The new iPad and iPad Apps, where we also got some cover up to new Apple TV release and iOS 5.1 update that brings SIRI to Japan. There is a need of 189 MB file download to be made via Software Update page on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. This over the air update really reduces the time and saves bandwidth for the users very much.
One of the main concern for iPhone 4S users, is the battery and we hope that this new update will fix the battery issue on iPhone 4S and gives better battery as similar to iPhone 4.

iOS 5.1 Download

If you have jailbroken or unlocked your iPhone running iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 then do stay away from this upgrade, as this will remove the jailbreak and you got to wait for some days or months till its available.

The New iPad to be Called as 3rd Generation iPad

The New iPad which was released during the Apple iPad Event March 2012, makes a lot of sense when it comes to the name for this fully loaded tablet beast. Initially it doesnt sound great, but when we think for a minute, this new iPad really suites well for long term after the iPad 2. Just may be to identify it better they have called it as The New iPad. When we visited their online apple store, it has mentioned Apple iPad (3rd Generation) similar to iPod Touch. So here after we can expect the iPad to continue with one name and only increase in the generation numbers.

The New iPad 2012 TV Ad

Third Generation iPad

ipad 3rd generation
When the entire Web and Bloggers (including us) naming it as iPad 3 or iPad HD, Apple event really gave a big surprise by naming it as “The New iPad“. Why to name something strange or usual ? Let it be simple and easy to refer in future as well. That may be the thought came in their mind and this Apple tablet got a name with easy mention of its generation to call easily.
So the iPad 2 which i have is the second generation one, and the next year we can expect apple to launch their iPad 4th Generation with more processor, more RAM, more Graphics and whatever more that can be added :) .

How to Pre order iPad 3 ?

Pre order iPad 3 Now, the official iPad page lets you Book your iPad right away.
It is tough to Win the naming contest when it comes to Apple, still it is an interesting one for Bloggers. During this event Apple has also released their new Apple TV 2012 and iOS 5.1 Download for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad that addresses various bug fixes and battery issue as well. New iPad 2012 also made some big buzz around Internet today.

48 Hours After iOS 5.1 Update on iPhone 4S

Apple has released iOS 5.1 update to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad addressing some important issues and addition of SIRI for Japan. I have updated to iOS 5.1 on my iPhone 4S and noticed few changes that i thought its worth sharing with you all. I have updated iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1 mainly for “Battery Issue Fix” and found its some what working but not entirely. Previously i was getting just 1 day battery backup and now its giving just half a day more in my normal usage. I dont use internet much on my iPhone. But let that WiFi Turned ON to check mails and for Twitter (which i use 5 times or 10 times a day).
ios 5.1
Through out the 48 hours, the upgrade seems some what OK, but not exactly as like the battery performance i got on my iPhone 4. For my usage level, i get upto 2 days battery backup but not with iPhone 4S. May be i should wait for one more update to let Apple to fix the battery issue completely.

iOS 5.1 Update

When i tried to update iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1 the very first issue i had was, the downloading of iOS Update through Over the Air Software update feature was not working. At 90% it says “software download failed” and asked me to do the download os iOS 5.1 manually through iTunes latest release. Which took entire night to download that 800 MB file.

iOS 5.1 Jailbreak

Heard, that there is no more further way to get back to iOS 5.0.1 too. Apple may made this move to prevent jailbreak as users who upgraded cannot roll back to previous ios version. iOS 5.1 currently has Tethered Jailbreak through Absinthe and Redsn0w. Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is not yet available, hence users who have not upgraded to the latest version may wait for sometime.
Was expecting a great difference and got little difference, still the speed and performance is great as always with the latest iOS release. Thanks for taking time to read and your patience. Do share your views about the latest iOS 5.1 if you have updated too.

iPad 3rd Generation Unboxing Video Hits Youtube

The first iPad 3rd Generation Unboxing video hits Youtube, few minutes ago. Tinhte.vn reserves the full credit for publishing the iPad 3rd Generation unboxing video before its official release. The New iPad released few days ago iPad 3 features and specifications were not that impressive as expected. Apple has called it the New iPad and the apple store check out page says it as iPad 3rd Generation. Apple has also released Apple TV with 1080p support and iOS 5.1 for iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone. When we look at the box of the iPad 3, then it reads as iPad Wi-Fi 4G and this really creates a doubt, whether Apple has changed the name after seeing so many guesses this time that matches with the features, specification and name also.

iPad 3rd Generation Unboxing

ipad 3 unboxing
We can expect so many iPad 3 unboxing videos in youtube once its officially launched on March 16th, 2012 in United States and various other countries. If you like to know the iPad 3 release date and country list, you may read it here.
ipad 3

iPad 3 vs iPad 2

The Tinhte blog reviewing person also compared it with the iPad 2 WiFi with 3G model one. iPad 3rd Generation unboxing video will help this time to understand, the people who are waiting and going to wait in the Queue at Apple Store before its launch.
ipad 3 vs ipad 2
We can expect more videos coming in explaining the features of iPad 3 compared to iPad 2, and what i personally choose is, iPad 2 for the best reading and after apple has reduced 100 USD on iPad 2, to make iPad 2 for cheap price. iPad 2 serves the best to read, surf internet, watch movies and connect with friends through skype and other video calling services.
Its really the best for expecting some great productivity, where iPad 4G or iPad 3rd Generation targets specially for Gamers who need faster processor and more graphics memory. Retina Display may be another advantage still my eyes are able to see excellent pictures in iPad 2 without any problem :) May be i will try iPad 3, after some months or when the next iPad released.

10 terrific apps for the new iPad

If the new iPad is all about the graphics, these apps deliver
The big news from this week’s unveiling of the new iPad was its best-in-the business display screen. With quad-core graphics and a screen resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, the newest version of Apple’s tablet packs a graphical punch unmatched in the industry. With this in mind, we thought we’d recommend 10 iPad apps that will help you get the most out of the tablet’s graphics processing power and resolution, including high-definition games, productivity tools and video apps.

SketchBook Pro
Developer: Autodesk
Price: $0.99
Autodesk was one of the developers Apple invited onstage at the new iPad unveiling to show off upgrades they made to SketchBook to take advantage of Apple’s finely-grained display screen. Even before the new iPad came out, SketchPad gave users the ability to create their own drawings with an impressive level of detail, so we imagine the new edition will only make it even stronger.

Infinity Blade Dungeons
Developer: Epic Games
Price: The game hasn’t yet been released, but it’s likely in the $2.99 range that previous Infinity Blade games have sold for
Infinity Blade Dungeons was another showcase app featured at Apple’s new iPad press event and it shows just how terrific the new iPad could be for games. Infinity Blade Dungeons itself is an action role-playing game filled with giant swords and giant monsters, if you’re into that sort of thing. Even if you’re not, you have to admit that the graphics look amazing compared to what we normally get from iPad games.

GarageBand
Apple
Price: $4.99
Apple’s popular music-making application also got an upgrade for the new iPad as users can now have interactive “jam sessions” with one another to really create collaborative music on their iPads. The new edition has also added a full string orchestra to add string arrangements to your pieces.

Apple’s popular music-making application also got an upgrade for the new iPad as users can now have interactive “jam sessions” with one another to really create collaborative music on their iPads. The new edition has also added a full string orchestra to add string arrangements to your pieces.

Penultimate
Developer: Cocoa Box Design LLC
Price: $0.99
Penultimate is a virtual notebook for the iPad that not only lets you take notes and create sketches, but import pictures and design presentations. The latest version has the ability to sync with Dropbox so you can store all your notes and presentations in the cloud and access them on any device where you’ve installed Dropbox.

MLB.com At Bat
Developer: MLB.com
Price: Free to download, although the good stuff costs $14.99 per year
Easily the most successful professional sports app available today, the MLB.com At Bat app gives you access to live radio and selected video highlights to every baseball game on your tablet for a $14.99 yearly subscription fee. And if you’re willing to pay $24.99 per month, you can get MLB.TV broadcasts of every MLB game on the year as well. The high resolution of the new iPad screen will make this app more attractive than ever.

iPhoto
Developer: Apple
Price: $4.99
Apple’s photo editing and organization app has several nifty features, including multi-touch editing that lets you drag in colors and shades right into your picture; a program that automatically finds photos similar to the ones you’re editing so you can compare them to one another; and Photo Journals that organize your pictures and publish them directly onto iCloud so you can access them from any iOS device.

SkyGamblers
Developer: Namco
Price: $4.99
SkyGamblers is a classic flight-simulation game that also sets you as a fighter pilot in World War I. The game controls basically move as you tilt your iPad in different directions and you can execute special maneuvers by doing specialized swipes on your screen. This was another app that Apple highlighted during its new iPad press event.

Mass Effect Infiltrator
Developer: Electronic Arts
Price: $6.99
“I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite game on the App Store.” OK, so the famous “Mass Effect” commander doesn’t appear anywhere in the game, but it is set in the same sci-fi universe that is currently under assault from robotic monsters in the blockbuster “Mass Effect 3” title. While the graphics for the game are obviously not up to the standards of the PC or console games, they are still quite impressive for an iPad game.

Pages
Developer: Apple
Price: $9.99
Although Pages doesn’t necessarily have the eye-popping visuals of some of the other apps we’ve covered, it is an essential productivity program for anyone who wants to use their tablet for work as well as play. As with Apple’s other native apps, Pages can sync your Word documents and other files with iCloud so you can get them on any iOS device you own.

Star Walk for iPad
Developer: Vito Technology
Price: $4.99
What better way to take advantage of the iPad’s new graphics capabilities than by using it to gaze at the stars? This app has several great features, including an augmented reality feature that can show you where stars are located even when during the day; a satellite tracker to keep track of every ISS in the sky; and a star spotter that gives you information about the stars you’re looking at.

First look at the new iPad: What's new, unchanged and still missing

The new iPad
Apple’s unveiling on March 7 of the highly anticipated "new iPad" (no "3" or "HD") revealed big changes: a hugely improved screen, a modestly improved CPU, a big boost in graphics processing, and support for LTE cellular data networks. Here's a closer look at what's new, unchanged and  still missing.

New: The display
The new iPad screen doubles the resolution of iPad 2's in the same 9.7-inch (diagonal) display: 2048 x 1536 pixels, a total of 3.1 million pixels (or four times the number for iPad 2), and a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. That makes it a "Retina Display" where the human eye cannot make out individual pixels.  Shown: more pixels than a 1080p high-def TV.

New: The display
Existing iPad apps will run without changes and without compromise on the new iPad. The new screen has 40% better color saturation than iPad 2, according to Apple. Saturation is the "colorfulness of a color relative to its own brightness," so the most saturated color looks the purest.

New: Processor
The new tablet's CPU is Apple's A5X system-on-a-chip (SOC), a dual-core processor like the A5 in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. But it's got an integrated quad-core graphics processing unit, which has four times the graphics oomph as the NVIDIA Tegra 3, Apple says. The A5X also has an image signal processor for the improved rear-facing camera.

New: iOS 5.1
The new OS release has various changes, most on the small side, though important, such as bug fixes to improve battery life in iPhone 4S. There are also new camera-related features, and a redesigned Camera app. TV and movies will sound clearer and louder. The real payoff: running new apps designed to fully exploit the new display.

iOS apps: iPhoto
The new photo app is iPhoto ($4.99), part of the iLife apps suite, all reworked for the new iPad high-res screen. The new iPhoto makes the tablet a far more effective tool for taking, manipulating, managing, and sharing photos. Shown: touch "brushes" that let you edit, adjust, tweak your photos.

New: LTE, and faster 3G
The new iPad is the first to support LTE data connectivity, with peak throughput in theory of 73Mbps. Apple will sell two iPad LTE versions, one for AT&T, one for Verizon Wireless. But the new iPad also supports much faster 3G speeds: theoretical peak download speeds of up to 42Mbps for DC-HSDPA, and up to 21.1Mbps for HSPA+. By contrast, iPad 2 maxes out at 3.1Mbps on EV-DO, and 7.2Mbps on HSPA.

New: improved rear-facing camera
Called iSight, the new camera has a 5-megapixel sensor, a sophisticated five-element lens (shown: exploded view) with infrared filter (which creates more accurate, uniform colors), an image signal processor built into the new A5X CPU, bigger aperture for brighter images. Records 1080p video for the first time on iPad.

New: Dictation
Many observers, relying on rumors, expected a full implementation of the iPhone 4S Siri Voice Assistant.  But Apple opted instead just for Siri's voice dictation, indicated by a new microphone icon in the lower left of the virtual keyboard. Tap the icon, speak while iPad listens and turns your spoken words into text for emails, text messages, Web searches. It works with third-party apps like Facebook and Twitter.

New: Bluetooth 4.0
Apple was the first company to introduce the latest version of Bluetooth, on iPhone 4S and MacBook and Mac Mini. Perhaps the key change with 4.0 is its extremely low power demand. Technically, the new iPad is what the Bluetooth SIG calls a "Bluetooth Smart Ready" device: the 4.0 radio can talk with devices that use earlier Bluetooth versions, and talk with new "Bluetooth Smart" devices that have a 4.0 radio that can only talk to another 4.0 radio (this latter group will be small, battery-powered smart sensors and the like).

Unchanged: Form factor
Technically, the new iPad is minutely thicker and heavier than iPad 2. But it's almost undetectable. The Wi-Fi model is 9.50 by 7.31 x  0.37 inches, weighing 1.44 pounds. Adding 4G, adds 0.02 ounces of weight. By contrast, iPad 2 is: 9.50 x 7.31 x 0.34 inches, 1.33 pounds for Wi-Fi; and weighs 1.34 pounds when you add 3G.

Unchanged: Battery life
As with iPad 2, this is a big deal: high definition screen, CPU and GPU boosts, LTE are all potentially power hungry. Apple promises that new iPad will get the same battery life as iPad 2: 10 hours, including 9 hours of LTE (or 3G for iPad 2) connectivity. The new iPad includes a more powerful battery: 42.5-watthour, rechargeable lithium-polymer battery versus 25 watthours for iPad 2.

Still missing
+ Adobe Flash. Get over it.
+ USB. Keep hoping. Maybe the next new iPad?
+ MicroSD card slot. 16, 32, 64 GIGAbytes. Get it?
+ Near-field communications (NFC). Still reigning as the world's most over-hyped, forever-almost-ready technology, touted as the key to using your phone as a digital wallet. But new iPad users will have to keep buying stuff the old-fashioned way: with plastic.

Apple Has Finally Revealed The 3rd-Generation iPad!

Apple finally revealed the 3rd-generation iPad, but that's not all they had in store for us during their press event in San Francisco. Tim Cook took to the stage and also introduced to a new version of Apple TV and, of course, iOS 5.1. Read on for all the details!
We'll start with what everyone has been waiting for, the new iPad. Just as all the rumors suggested the new iPad will come equipped with a 2048 x 1536 Retina display sporting 3.1 million pixels, which Apple claims is 1 million more than an HDTV. Powering the new slate will be Apple's new A5x quad-core processor that apparently provides “four times the performance” of the Tegra 3 chip making its way to Android tablets.
Apple also revealed that the new iPad is sporting their new iSight camera, which is comprised of a 5-megapixel backside illuminated sensor, 5-element lens, IR filter, and ISP built into the A5X chip –  slightly more than what we get with an iPhone 4S. The iSight camera will also shoot 1080p HD video at up to 30 frames per second.
The new iPad will feature the same 10 hour battery life as its predecessor and the long-rumored 4G LTE connectivity has been confirmed. Just like previous iPad iterations the new version will be available as as a WiFi only device or a data carrier model. Carriers include Verizon and AT&T in the U.S., but like the iPad 2 there is no universal 4G model.
The new iPad is also getting some upgrades on the software side thanks to iOS 5.1 which is available beginning today. Most notably is a new Siri-powered voice dictation feature which will allow you speak words to your keyboard rather than typing them. Updated versions of iMovie, GarageBand, iPhoto and the iWork suite have also been introduced today and if you've already purchased the app the update is free.
So what's this new iPad called? Well, its not iPad 3, its not iPad HD and its not iPad 2S. Nope, Apple is simply calling it iPad. Its a little confusing considering the iPad 2 will continue with a reduced price point, but Apple has been doing it like this with the iPod Touch for years. I guess we'll have to live with it.
Finally we're on to pricing and those of you anxious to pre-order the 3rd-generation iPad will be happy to hear that pricing remains the same with the 16GB WiFi-only model starting at $499, 32GB at $599 and 64GB at $699. 4G LTE capable devices come in at $629, $729 and $829 respectively. The new iPad will be available in stores and online March 16th and will once again be available in black and white versions.

A new version of Apple TV also got some love at the event. New features include 1080p streaming along with a new streamlined interface. Also, users will now have the ability to pull movies and other videos from iCloud and Apple TV's price point will remain the same at $99. Its up for pre-order now and will available March 16th.
